Since this is the second post for the website, there are still many I haven't finish touch up for it. I take the php template from Drupal and apply it because I want to save time to restructure the blocks.
Things I gotta do:
1. Design a logo
2. Design a header banner
3. Design a footer
4. Modify php template to active the links (Home, About Us, Services, COntact Us...they are still empty links!)
5. Put some text to replace the text on the left-side bar which is in Thai.
6. replace the text at the content!
That's why I love open source!
Yesterday night, when I was getting idea to design a logo for this site, my 9 years old daughter come and ask: Mom, when can you teach me to build a website?
I answered: Well, wait till you are older...and I am free. (Just to get rid of her non-stop questions, I know I am bad)
She replied: Mom, I can do it, just teach me...I wanna learn.
I silence...
Sometimes, I feel that my kid can do a lot of things. She thinks she can do it, but I never let her try. How can I stop her from learning new things just because of I am lazy?
If I were to teach her, the following things I need to do:-
1. Finish all house works on Friday night.
2. Clear off Saturday afternoon activities.
3. Go online search for the easiest tutorials.
4. Use up the whole Saturday to guide her on the web building tutorials. (If cannot finish in 1 day, split it to few weeks, the reason I don't choose Sunday is because I need rest!)
What if I have to work on other things on Saturday??? She will definitely angry if I was not fulfill my promise for letting her build her own website.
Since school holidays is coming (2 weeks of holidays), my plan is to let her go back to my hometown, let her stays with her grandma, play and go bicycle with her friends there. After the holidays, she will definitely forget the 'website' thing. (ha ha)
I used 30 minutes to choose the font and design the site logo (at the same time playing Farm Town). I removed the ugly active link background color for the logo that originally comes with the Drupal Thailand template, and also the 'a.hover' background color behind the logo, that color made me feel that I was going to throw away the template. Then I started to design header, 3 minutes later...no idea...2 minutes again...no idea....play Farm Town...5 minutes later, come back to header design...2 minutes later....no idea again!!! I'm going crazy, better switch off the computer and go to sleep!
After this logo design, it will be header, body and footer design. Still not getting any idea of them, hopefully this can be done by next Friday, and the menu...contents...that'll be later stage.
After a week of struggling, the new look for the site has finally came out. I designed header image, footer image to a Night Time View of Floras, and had put up the first series of masques to start selling them...!
Masques series will be available under Beauty Storage, click here to visit.
Thanks to Drupal for the template, letting me finish the site within a week. Yeah!
